“Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.”
- Theodore Roosevelt
When thinking about resources, thoughts naturally go to material things. From an energetic perspective, your attention, time, and lifeforce are your most valuable resources.
Once passed, time is not something you can get back. But you can adjust your focus, what you give your attention and as a result, where your energy (and lifeforce) goes.
You can’t pour from an empty cup. Thankfully, energy can be restored when depleted. Through rest, relaxation, and Reiki.
Rest and relaxation are opportunities for the body and mind to repair and regenerate.
Reiki is a mind-body-spirit healing and energy practice from Japan that promotes health and well-being, mindfulness, resilience, and vitality.
The power is in the present moment. Here are two Mindful Moments to help you tune in and connect with your inner resource of wisdom.
Mindful moment #1: Tune into the now
Are you now here? Or nowhere? Mindfulness is a practice, a skill that can help you become aware of what is going on, internally and externally, without judgment. To simply notice what is.
Sometimes a little shift in perspective can open minds and hearts to new possibilities and opportunities. Maybe there’s an invitation to simplify. To prioritize. To put your well-being, health, and sanity first.
Mindful moment #2: Take a breath and check in with yourself
Feel your feet on the ground. Notice how you are feeling.
Even if it is only for one minute, I invite you to be still and just breathe. If you need to give your mind something to do, repeat “I am breathing in” and “I am breathing out” with every inhale and exhale.
Notice if something shifts for you. Every breath can be a new beginning. Every moment can be a new beginning. You don’t have to wait until tomorrow for something to shift. You can start right here, right now, with what you have.
May you experience rest, relaxation, and well-being – today and every day.
