Have you noticed the energy of fits and starts, push and pull, recently? Energy moves in waves, especially this year. One moment, you’re in the flow… and then a wave comes, a challenge arises, and your attention and energy go elsewhere.
I’m writing this today, because this seems to be a current theme for a lot of my clients. “Something’s wrong with me.” “I’m not doing enough.” “I can’t figure this out.” The voices of self-judgement and self-criticism kick in… and silence the voice of compassion.
Running on sheer adrenaline and willpower, she is caring, giving, and loving to her family and to her clients, but not to herself. She was tormented, anxiety was climbing, and her pain caused by this internal pressure cooker was eating her alive. She didn’t know how to relax, to slow down, and listen to the messages of her body. Does this sound or feel familiar to you, too?
Mother’s Day is May 12.
May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Anxiety is something many experience, don’t talk about, and try to push through alone, especially those who seem to have it all (and together).
Sometimes, anxiety can be triggered by change (external and internal). Here is the tricky thing about change. It can be uncomfortable. It can feel threatening. Even when it is good change.
Yet, on a cellular level, we change constantly. All the time. Our cells and organs renew themselves like clockwork to keep us healthy, and functioning, hopefully like a well-oiled machine. It is the mind that keeps us in the loop of “what-if’s, could-have’s, should-have’s, would-have’s.” It is a record that plays over and over – and often, we don’t know where to find the off-switch.
That’s why relaxation, pausing, resting, and self-care are so important to re-Source yourself – and to ground yourself within your inner source of wisdom, strength, and resilience. For some, Reiki is the modality and practice, which helps them do that.
May you have ENERGY, CALM & PEACE – today and every day.
