As humans, we are energetic beings. While our bodies are made of flesh and bones, we are also vibrational beings. A life force flows through our veins and cells. Acupuncture, Tai Chi and Qi Gong refer to this life force as Qi or Chi, Yoga and Ayurveda as Prana, and Reiki practice as Ki.
We’ve all experienced how emotional experiences affect the energy flow in the body. Just think of the physical tension during anxiety, feeling stuck when things are not going the way you’d like them to, or the rising heat of anger.
Did you know that thoughts can work like energetic magnets? Feelings can influence thoughts, and vice versa. How we feel and think can also direct and influence our energy and life force and how we experience life, because emotions are energy in motion. But each of us has the power to reset her or his own energy.
Some emotions vibrate at a higher frequency. Others at a lower frequency. We don’t need to be scientists to understand that when we feel happy and joyful, life flows smoothly and things feel lighter and easier. Whereas when we feel sad or worried, things feel heavy and stuck.
Reiki sessions and Reiki self-care are great tools to calm or soothe yourself physically, mentally, and emotionally. That’s because Reiki is balancing. When the body relaxes, your energy can flow more smoothly, which helps to bring alignment back.
