As 2019 is coming to an end, it’s time to let go… let go of all the should-haves, could-haves, would-haves that have accumulated this year. Today’s new moon and eclipse invite us to start thinking of our intentions for the new year and the new decade.
The hardest part about intentions is not to turn them into expectations. Instead they invite us to learn to trust and to surrender. This year one of my mentors taught me that expectations are resentments waiting to happen. This important teaching really helps put things into perspective, especially during the holidays.
I have never been a friend of new year’s resolutions. They can put pressure on a person or set up for disappointment. Since I believe in the flow of life, I like to explore. Here are some questions that I have been thinking about and been playing with, maybe you find them helpful too:
- “What have been my biggest lessons in 2019?”
- “How would I like to experience 2020?”
- “What are my priorities for 2020?”
As we transition into new possibilities, new beginnings, and new challenges, be kind with yourself, gentle. Nurture yourself. Check your joy-meter, what brings you joy and what moves you away from it.
May the new year be filled with joy, health & well-being for you and your loved ones - and may you be more and more connected with yourself.
Sending you love & Reiki blessings,
Andrea
