Amidst the busyness of life, a schedule full of summer activities, family gatherings, and fun things to do, knowing when to pause doesn’t come easy or naturally.
Acronyms are one of my favorite tools to anchor myself in the present moment and to reset my energy.
The word PAUSE is a great reminder to
Postpone
Action
Until
Stillness
Emerges
[Based on my experience and preference, I chose the world stillness in this context as an internal slowing down, a quiet tuning in – away from the frantic chatter of the mind.]
A PAUSE doesn’t have to be a day off or vacation. A PAUSE can be a moment. A mindful moment. STOP signs can serve as everyday reminders to
Stop
Take a breath
Observe where you are
Pause for a moment
I believe that a big cause of stress is when there’s too much doing and not enough being. After all, we are human beings and not human doings. There’s a time for doing and there’s a time for being. There’s a time for activity and a time for resting. There’s a time for giving and there’s a time for receiving.
It’s about balance. Whatever this means for each person, individually.
PAUSE. Slow down. Restore your sense of self. These are not luxuries, but essential. For your health. For your well-being. For your life.
Not sure you can do this on your own? Let’s connect.
May you have moments of PAUSE, clarity & ease – today and every day.
